Worst Part of the Day - I realized at the end of the day that SB did not go pee on the potty once today. Must remember to ASK and ASK and ASK. HATE potty training, by the way. Is there some sort of camp you can send them to for this?
Best Part of the Day - SB (FINALLY - hate RED TAPE BS!) has his speech intake or whatever they call it. After watching and interacting with SB, the therapist said "his evaluation was done in May, right?" And I said "yes." And she said "I think I'm going to have to do another informal eval because some of these goals ... he is already exceeding." HOORAY! She said his receptive language and direction following is totally on par with all other three year olds. And she even said that she would not say it is apraxia (which I thought it was) because he is imitating sounds and speech so dern well (not always CLEARLY mind you, but at least trying). Later she said "do you think he's going to qualify for Occupation Therapy services?" This was always a sore spot with me and I NEVER thought he needed OT. And so I said "you know, I don't think he needs it." And she looked at me and said "we'll still test him because we have to - but I do not think he'll qualify." I feakin' KNEW IT!
Also went to see Dr. Hoessini (Kite Runner author) speak tonight and it was very, very interesting and good. He is articulate, witty and very grounded. Best quote - "In Afghanistan if you educate a boy, you educate an individual. If you educate a girl, you educate a community." Here, here!

Except for the (non) potty training, those things are VERY exciting!!
