It has been quite helpful to have Will-O home since Sunday. (As it should be, I gather, to have 2 adults working together to care for the kids.) He has obviously turned over some kind of new, mature leaf. (Thank you.)
Will-O took S. swimiming after school whilst Liam napped and I read/finished my latest Book Club book: Montana 1948. A short and sweet goodie.
Worst Part of the Day-
My 5:50am rising time drains me and by 7-ish pm, I am done and want to get in jammies and ready for bed. How can I resume my social self if I cannot stay up past 8? Brunches, I suppose. I feel like my morning people friends who years ago lobbied for "morning parties" because they couldn't fathom staying up past 9pm. But what the heeel? I was the mascot for night owl my whole life long...I am gettin' old.
Most Straight Shooting Comment of the Day-
Scarl has been reading or at least discerning the names Obama and McCain from yard signs, bumper stickers, etc. for the last couple o' weeks. Usually as we are driving, she will keep me updated, "There's another one for Obama, Mom", or "No, they like McCain..."
At 6:58am, as we are walking the 1/2 block to her bus stop, she pointed out a McCain sign in the neighbor's yard. As we were chatting and waiting for the bus, we saw the occupant of the house open the front door and grab the newspaper on the front porch. S. immediately bee lined for the unsuspecting neighbor. "Hey lady, Hey lady!" (This lady is probably thinking oh, hello sweet girl decked out in head-to-toe pink at 7am. You must want to talk about rainbows and puppy dogs, right?) "Um excuse me, you shouldn't vote for McCain--he's not the guy. No, no, no. Not McCain!!! If you don't like Obama just because he has a lot of teeth, don't worry because I think he has a lot of teeth, but he's the right one! We like Obama. Obama with an 'O'. Bye."
