Liam initiated sitting on his mini potty, said "pee pee" and then instantly went pee pee. Thank god. Someone is listening and something may be sinking in.
Worst Part of the Day-
Overview: Lots of screeching and screaming and whining--ALL DAY--and mostly Scarlet--what is up? Liam copies every darn thing she does so I can see this mayhem exponentially increasing. WHY? WHAT?
Specific example (1 of 50 incidents today): Scarlet has a new concern with "privacy" while changing and will slam her bedroom door after sprinting in the room to change outfits. (She changes full outfits roughly 5 times daily.) I've told her billions of times "no door slamming, please!". Liam of course follows her into each room and whether she is changing or not. This morning she accidentally slammed both sets of his little fingers in the door. He was screaming, she was crying 'cause she didn't mean it, and I almost lost it. (It was only 9am.)
Later I calmly told her that there is a reason why parents like me repeatedly instruct things like "no door slamming, please." It is not stated to annoy her, among other reasons it is stated to avoid little fingers from getting crunched (and ultimately to avoid further screaming and crying.) We made an agreement that when mom is about to lose her mind (from instructing things that are blatantly ignored), I will utter our mutually agreed upon Mad Mommy Code Word of "weinerschnitzel". Scarlet will know that she must get it together when she hears this word. She admitted, "it's a funny word, so it will probably make me laugh and then I will listen."
Should it really have to come to Code Words? Can't a child simply obey?????
WEINERSCHNITZEL!
