Golly gee wizz, the kiddos and I had a wonderfully smooth day. Scarlet had a day off from school due to kindergarten testing (staggered days) and we all had much fun just hanging out at the homestead. We are officially in our single parent family groove and today it was shockingly fun/easy and the chitlins are oh so happy. Let's keep it going!
Worst Part of the Day-
I am watching an indie documentary on PBS called Critical Condition about the health care crisis in our country...it is crazily depressing. What the hell? Why can't we get national health care??? For all of the nay sayers--it's just like having public school be a part of our world--if you don't like public schools you can always send your kids to private, but at least the public school are frickin THERE as a backup for the nation. It's just like the US Postal System--if ya need faster service you can pay for FedEx--but at least there is a basic service there for those who want/need only the basics. (Sorry so remedial, but many people simply do not know.) Let's scrounge up some vision in this country. I just cannot see it happening...

Don't worry some day doctors will be replaced by computers and we will be able to get care at home.
All doctors do now is prescribe overpriced pills. And surgeons will be replaced by bionanotechnology.
If I could prescribe medication, I could do the job of just about any doctor.
Here's a dialog:
Patient - "Dr. Dan I have a pain here and here. And a little cough. My chest hurts and I have a pain in the jaw."
Dr. Dan - "What kind of insurance do you have? "
Patient - "No insurance Dr. Dan"
Dr. Dan - "Hem, OK here are some samples the cute pharma lady in the super short skirt gave me. Take these and eat more apples. We'll ignore the pain in chest for now until you have a heart attack, then the ER will have to take you."
Patient - "You're the best Dr. Dan!"
Dr. Dan - "You know it."
But aren't there doctors in the ER? Or are you just dissin' Internal Medicine docs?
I urge you to watch the documentary...your guess on the future is one thing, but I am worried about the here and now. And also your comment re: pharma lady in super short skirt.
Okay, now you're right. We will always need doctors to pull bullets out of people. But how hard could that be? America should spend more money training pastry chefs and carpenters.
This of course based on my inability to find either.
For the here and now, get a job at a college where the medical care is subsidized by loans taken out by 18 year olds.
MM, what are you saying the skirts the reps wear are shorter than super short? You may be right.
