Worst Part of the Day - I was talked into dinner with Uncle Chris and Aunt Ann because it was going to be at this area that has an outdoor play area surrounded by casual restaurants. Okay - I'm in! Then we get a call on our way over that there is this OTHER place with blow up jumpy tents and the like. Okay - I'm in! Erik and I take turns chasing ze IMP
who somehow found a seven balloon bouquet for a hour and a half (which was actually fun - beer in one hand, gorgeous day, it's all good!) Then it is somehow decided (clearly without my input) that we are going to a nearby restaurant. Thank GOD it was a loud one as the IMP proceeded to YELL and SCREAM and CRY until his food arrived. Then he quieted down for maybe 15 minutes and was back at it. At one point Erik looks at me and says "do you have the DVD player?" And I give him a LOOK and say "Nope, I thought we were eating outside." And he sheepishly says "yeah, plans changed." Then Saintly Aunt Ann took him on a walk so we could eat ... but really? Just as I'd dreamed dinner out with IMP would be ... no more until he's 17.
Best Part of the Day - On a positive note - SB sat nicely for about 80% of the dinner which I think is amazing and made me feel like maybe just maybe we can eat out as a family before IMP is 17. Also Erik and I agreed (on the way home) that we HAVE to keep going out no matter how blood pressure raising the kiddos are .... it's just the way it is. I just can't wait until threats really work.
