Worst Part of the Day - My mom had an early flight so we were up at 4:45 a.m. to get her to the airport. Then I came home and laid down for 45 minutes before the boyz got up. Looking at Wes I could not decide whether or not to send him to preschool today. After a dose of Motrin and a thorough face washing - the kiddo stole a pen and wrote all over his feet and legs. Doesn't seem like a sicky to me especially as he's splashing through puddles as I'm trying to get him in the car. I drop the two off and head out to do the delinquent grocery shopping. Less than on hour later the preschool is acallin' - can I pick up my feverish Wes? I enter the office and there is Wes laying down on a bench covered by his jacket. He's not super hot - the fever must be very slight. But I have to admit that I've never seen him just laying anywhere at anytime unless it's nap time or bedtime (the preschool must just LOVE me). I get him home and he sleeps until 12:45 when we have to pick up Quinn. Then I get him home and he sleeps until 3 p.m. Then he's REAL unhappy the rest of the afternoon.
I'm not feeling too well myself - and Erik worked a 13 hour day and we're all a little ... tired.
Best Part of the Day - I went to the library to return a book and then pick up some new books that I had reserved. I read this book front to back today/tonight - The Fifth Child by Doris Lessing (don't be too impressed, it's only 133 pages). Whoa - I don't know what to say about it. It would be a good book club book because it brings up all sorts of issues (class, family size, who 'deserves' to live, is the good of one worth the destruction of many, how much of a child's actions can be 'blamed' on the parent ....) I found it very, very interesting. Also I did have a really excellent latte at Caribou Coffee. I had never had their coffee before and it rocked.
