I had an impromptu wine party as I was unable to get a sitter for my book club tonight. Around 1:30am (I know, I know), I heard to sound of water churning in the upstairs bathroom. I went up to check on it (it sounded like the toilet filling, but constantly.) I idiotically lifted the heavy porcelain top of the toilet and all of a sudden water starting spilling over the top. Soon I was screaming "help!" Water was spraying everywhere. A plumber is needed!!!
Best Part of the Day-
Thank heavens the wine party was going strong at 1:30am (we would not stop talking or drinking). As soon as I gave my troubled cry, 2 trusty helpers were at my service. One was shouting, "get your toolbox!" and was instantly soaking wet as she tired to manipulate thingys inside the tank. Another was down to business tossing all of the towels from the closet on the floor. The floor was completely submerged in seconds. (Astonishingly) immediately one was on the phone with her husband who was giving awesome advice (what a dear--at 1:30am) in the heat of the moment and the other had a wrench in hand and was turning the water source to the toilet off--a bicep work out. It was crazy. Three minutes prior we were laughing and wining and relaxing. The drunken house guests successfully turned the spraying water off as I stood there not knowing what to do! If I was alone it would have been a NIGHTMARE!!! Long live drunken house guests!!!

your drunken house guests will long live!! and hooray for my 'special tool'!!...but for future events, we must have video camera on hand to record our $10,000 'america's funniest home videos' segment.
