My mom came over to watch the kids while I went to work this evening. I feel so confident when they are in her care. It's great for all involved.
Worst Part of the Day-
Liam's sitter called to inform me that she threw her back out this weekend and would not be able to sit today. Aw man. It is only a 4 hour block, but I was a hair bummed. Therefore I had to take L. to the library (to prep for my class tonight) and grocery store (we have NO food) I am soooo anti taking my children out into the private sector...I know it is me... Even as I placated L. with lollipops the entire time (yes, I admit it. yes, there is sugar in them) he was still difficult. He may not be feeling 100%, but still. Amidst L. throwing his shoes off while lounging dramatically in the cart seat like a gangsta rapper, a fellow shopper annoyingly stated the obvious, "Someone doesn't like to listen." I've learned to perfect the silent tight-lipped "smile" in response to these unhelpful declarations by strangers (who have oodles of child-free alone time, clearly.)

"Someone doesn't like to listen?" Yes it's me - not listening to YOU, lady. Almost two year olds specialize in not listening. ANNOYING!!! Almost as bad is a random lady saying "someone isn't happy" when your child is SCREAMING his head off. Really? How f$%king astute of you to notice. I usually like to say "yes, it's me." To that "someone isn't happy" comment.
hey! "yes its me" is an AWESOME comeback...right on! all moms should use that..
So comforting to know ya'll KNOW the dillie!
