My parents volunteered to take the kids to the State Fair this late afternoon. I had 3.5 hours to my bad self and the kids were returned smiley and winded. My parents told tales of the fun: cows, goats, chickens in close proximity; Scarlet milked a goat (I secretly cringed), they went down the BIG slide twice with no hands; and S. even got harnessed up and jumped on a trampoline doing flips and the like. They even indulged in the non-heart healthy fair treats like hot dogs and cream puffs (fun for them as Mama don't play dat).
Worst Part of the Day-
At around 4:30pm I started feeling "yucky"--nauseous and dizzy.
Most Hee-Hee Part of the Day-
After the State Fair I quickly bathed the kids and got the nighttime routine underway as they were technically late for bed. After the teeth brushing Scarlet wanted to rinse her mouth but there weren't any cups at the sink side so I told her she could take a quick sip from the faucet. She paused and then said, "Dad says were shouldn't drink from the faucet." I agreed and told her that is true but she could do it quickly as I wasn't going to get a cup from the kitchen right now. She lapped up the water and that was that.
As I tucked her into bed I asked her what her favorite part of the day was. I figured there was a ton to consider in light of the sixty awesome things they had just done at the State Fair. She thought for a moment and then smiled, "Ummmm, my favorite part of the day was drinking right from the faucet--I loved that."
