 In the mist
 Train w/Babs
Best Part of the Day-
Went to the zoo kinda impromptu with my mom and kiddies and a buddy and child.  It was an idyllic day weather-wise, we were all relaxed as we had no huge schedule--that is key to the outing success.  The kids looooved seeing the ani-mals (Liam called everything in the Ape House "monkeeeey" and could not quite fathom how cool that was).  We did it up on the playground, got cool in the misters, fed the goats, rode the train and merry-go-round carousel (note to self:  my vertigo-tendencies do not love going round and round...).  Whew.
My mom put it right when she commented that going to these places with the kids really brings back the magic of childhood.   It's true that one forgets how thrilling the zoo can be.  Liam was so excited to be on the train.  Instead of screaming his head off to show his pleasure (like big sis) he was stock still and quietly alert the whole time taking in the unbelievable:  I live for trains.  I love to see trains.  I am on a train.
At one point in the dairy farm area, Scarlet pointed in the direction of an 800 pound ox/yak/cow and said "Look, Mom, oh my gosh!"  Before I could confirm that yes, I see that huge animal (but I don't know exactly what that is), she gushed, "I can't believe it--real hay bales!!"  She ran up to admire the straw bales through the fence while completely ignoring the massive beast sweating beside it.  Ya never know what will get ya at the zoo.  For me it was the cherry slushie on our way out.  Good day.

Worst Part of the Day-
I take pride in never paying bills late.  Never say never.  I just found a bill (sitting in a pile in a decorative bowl---arrrgh.  Sometimes I put papers and mail and clutter in random decorative bowls to get them out of my sight!) and it was due 8/1.  Though I paid it online immediately after tearing it open, it still is late.
