Today I helped Scarlet complete her Valentines for her preschool V-Day party. For the most part I wrote names and she crossed them off our list and put on the finishing touches--i.e heart stickers and some glitz. It was slow going at first, but nearing the end of our 35 cards we were cranking them out. It was more fun than I would have thought. This project conjured memories of grade school like-interests and the mid-grade excitement that Valentine's Day brought on--cheap flowers, bright red cupcakes, putting cards into each classmate's decorated shoe box (they still do that!)--something vibrant and sweet in the midst of the duldrums of winter. After we finished Scarlet was beaming and said "Thanks for being the best Valentine helper ever, Mom!" (She has no real frame of reference, but I'll take it).
Thursdays are to be my free days. Both kids go to their respective child care places and usually I will clean the house, organize, or go to a movie--usually I do things that are a drag to do with the kids. Today I lounged. Will-O gave me a massage in the afternoon and we snuggled and talked. Very leisurely.
We went to my mom and dad's for a fantastic home-cooked meal for dinner and then we exchanged Valentines. Good day.

Worst Part of the Day-
I am really sleepy. Some people may say a more precise term is "hung over" (from late night gang activities), I prefer to stick with "sleepy".
After 2 days of being vomit-free, Scarlet threw up once tonight. After a full day consisting of 2 parties and heaps of playtime, she became pale during dinner and threw up. She then continued playing. What is up? (I swear it is NOT Munchausen's By Proxy...)
