Best Part of the Day-
Scarlet looooves gymnastics and was practicing her cartwheels in the living room.  I was making breakfast so I had my back to her while I scrambled eggs.  I could hear her tumbling about.  After one landing she aksed "Did you see that, Mom?  I did it."  I told her I didn't see it as I was facing the stove.  She replied, "Well keep cooking and just use the eyes in the back of your head."  Is this something out of Chicken Soup for the Soul?  Whatever it is, I am pleased to announce my words are sticking.  She kills.

Worst Part of the Day-
Job #1 was fine and good.  Job #2 was fine and good...all until I was just about to leave.  An unresponsive 10 month-old was brought in by her mom.  Mom said she couldn't wake her for 4 hours.  The baby looked oxygen-deprived; it was really scary.  After trying to figure out what had happened, it turned out that dad has an opiate problem...somehow little babe ingested some of his stash.  So it's horrifying enough when your baby is in the ICU with a drug overdose--but it gets much, much worse when the hospital calls the dad to tell him the status and the dad gets scared and runs away--leaving his other 2 kids, ages 6 years and 8 years, alone in the home.
The baby was still alive and stable (but not out of the woods) when I left close to 1am.
