Worst Part of the Day-
Instead of being able to flop down in bed after working oodles o' hours, I came home to hear Scarlet screaming/crying.  (She is not a crier, people.)  She was sobbing and saying that her ears hurt "soooo bad!"  Neither Motrin or Tylenol touched the awful pain and I was up with her until the morning light (dad snoozed without issue) when we went to the pediatrician at 8:15am.  She was SOBBING in the waiting room!  It was terrible.  The doctor said she of course had a double ear infection and topped it off with "one of the worst, most red/bulging cases I've seen in a while" looking at me like I was kinda a slacker mom to wait all night with a miserable kid.   The doc said that it's amazing the left ear did not "perforate" (sounds yicky) due to the pressure as that can cause temporary hearing loss and also prolong an infection.  On the way to pick up the antibiotics Scarlet all of a sudden stopped moaning and said "the pain is gone, Mom" and I looked at her in my rear view mirror only to see blood and a clear liquid oozing from her left ear.  Ah ha--now the sucka has perforated, indeed.  At this time my child is deaf (albeit temporarily) in her left ear.  Awesome way to start the day.

Best Part of the Day-
I rode my bike to the Brewer game to meet some friends.  Though about 80 people said I looke exhausted, it was still pretty fun to be out.
