Best Part of the Day-
Dads: My dad came to babysit this afternoon while I ran (well, hobbled) to the grocery store. I officially used my assertiveness training and asked for some gol diggity help. (Well, after my mom assured me he had no plans for the day...) My dad has never watched the kids without my mom, so this was a bit new. The kiddies were soooo excited to see him. They all had a blast with no issues and only fun and literal games. Liam sobbed per his usual when my dad's shift was over. Very helpful. Thanks, Dad!
Worst Part of the Day-
Dads: I heard that my friend's father passed away of cancer last evening. My heart aches for her as they were very, very close. She was one of his nurses until the end though the only nursing skills she possessed were the most basic and most crucial--TLC--and time to spend with him. The toughest job you may not want to end.
He was an amazing man--the kind of man everyone loved. (Well, he was sweet, wise, funny and Irish--what's not to love?!) Truly, I don't know if they make 'em like him anymore. Here's to you, Dr. Martin. Cheers. Peace. You will be missed greatly. Good job on your awesome kids. Note: pic above of Buddah (possibly the greatest nickname ever) and his girls.
(I don't like that we're all gonna die...I just don't.)
