Friday February 26, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Getting the kiddies clean and fresh and tucked into beddies. Love my lil nuggets.

Worst Part of the Day-
Felt a bit crammed for time and little groceries in the home did not make me want to come home and cook this eve. Made a knee jerk decision to take the bittles to Culvers for an evening treat. Within seconds of entering the establishment, Liam wiped out and got a bloody lip, Scarlet was running and jumping around, then Liam fell backwards off his chair before I changed the order "to go". In the end, I spent $25 on crappy fried food and Liam ended up not eating any of it and saying, "I have tummy ache." Oh well.

Thursday February 25, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Gaining knowledge and comfort at an swift rate on the work front. Whew.

Worst Part of the Day-
Getting all the childcare details set for Will-O to be gone for his now 2 week Peru trip.
Departure date is tomorrow and I am clearly working 50+ hours/week. Just who will pick up my child from the bus at 3:15??? Eeek.

Wednesday February 24, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Snuggling up and reading a fab book, City of Thieves. I have a crush on both the author and one of the characters.

Worst Part of the Day-
I cannot return all of the calls I receive...Peeps, if I haven't called you back, please bear with me.

Tuesday February 23, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Worked only 1 job today. A piece of cake, my friends.

Worst Part of the Day-
A difference of opinion between Will-o and my bad self.

Funny Scarlet Quote:
(She has said this before, but it is worth repeating.)
As Scar was planning out her next day outfit, she picked out these denim leggings she has and said, "Ohhh, I just love these skinny jeans! They are just like Uncle Mike's!!" Why is the only personal reference she has for skinny jeans my 28 year-old brother? Kills.

Monday February 22, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Super productive work, work, work day.

Worst Part of the Day-
Worked from 8am-10:30pm. (mylanta.)

Sunday February 21, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Headed out to my parentals' for a lil something to do (and I was searching for something I thought I had left there long ago...) So nice to have them close.

Worst Part of the Day-
I cannot put my little paws on a treasure that I would not have thrown away. Where oh where is it???

Saturday February 20, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
To the gym in AM with the fam. Very entertaining watching Scarlet in gymnastics. Post-gymnastics, I gave Scar a "test" to see how she would do not in KidCare, but sitting alone at a table in the common area while Will-O and I worked out. Though her job was to complete her homework, I know she hit up the vending machine for hot chocolate and chatted up some friends (perhaps readying herself for "studying" in high school and college), she still passed test. Whew. My girl is growing up.

Worst Part of the Day-
I had to flake on my party, party friends who were planning a wild night of downtown drinkin and madness. To be honest, I was quite beat after my two prior eves o' socializing, but Will-O had to tend to music/work things til late so I had zero child coverage. Sorry, dudettes.

Tuesday February 23, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Impromptu IKEA trip with my pal Janelle. It is so fun to hang out with her - like we've know each other for years. Very fun. Also have many plans for the rest of the week - dare I say my social calendar is booked? Weird.

Worst Part of the Day - I feel very exhausted - I'm not sleeping well due to kiddos crying out to be covered (Wes) and animals wanting to be let out (Clarence) and people leaving early for work (Erik at 4:30 a.m.). So I just wanted the babes to play quietly (and neatly) by themselves and that was NOT going to happen (ever, ever, ever it seems). It was a looong afternoon. But since Wes did not nap - both were in bed snoozing away at 6:45 p.m. Gotta love that - but it was a long time getting to that point.

Monday February 22, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Erik dropped off the kiddos at preschool so I could do a twofer at the gym (Centergy and Power). I had to take another nap during the kiddo's quiet time. Then off to the library for some family fun.

Worst Part of the Day - Erik's last night. But he was in good spirits as we readied him for his drive tomorrow.
Also the dog has now gotten us up every night (between 1 and 4 a.m.) to go outside - major GI distress?? What is going on. It's exhausting.

Sunday February 21, 2010

Best Part of the Day - GORGEOUS day - 65 degrees and sun, sun, sunny! We went to the playground for a picnic lunch and playtime. As Phil Collins would say "No Jacket Required." He would also say "Take Me Home" (which was Erik's refrain) - he was not overly pleased with our adventure for some reason (maybe it was the too small picnic table). I could have stayed all day long - I had a newspaper, a coffee and two boyz who were wandering around, but overall entertained.

Worst Part of the Day - Watching the movie Whiteout. I am not kidding when I say that I could write a screenplay just as good as this one in one afternoon. It was choppy, made no sense and the 'ah ha' moment was so obvious. So if you are feeling down in the dumps creatively, watch this and it will inspire you to greater heights (or depths because this is clearly what is mostly getting made in Hollywood these days).

Oh and Survivor Heroes vs. Villains is rockin'. I'm enthralled!!

Saturday February 20, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Got out of the house for a two hour workout. It felt sooo good to be out of the house and moving around. Me thinks the boys are now on the mend.

Worst Part of the Day - Had to take a nap this afternoon. So beat after all the sickness around the house and the dog getting me up at 2 a.m. to be let out. Strange - I think he now has GI distress.

Friday December 19, 2010

Worst Part of the Day - Boys had both eaten fine the night before and seemed to be on the mend. Then Thursday at 11 p.m. Wes throws up. I get him and the hallway and the bathroom cleaned up. Friday at 1:45 a.m. Quinn throws up. My big boy only threw up slightly in his bed - he made it to the toilet. I clean him and his sheets up. Friday at 3:30 a.m. Wes throws up again. Friday at 8:45 a.m. Wes throws up all over me, the rug, five blankets and two softies. Thank GOD for that washing machine. So we spent another day indoors - both boys still suffering from mild (compared to yesterday) diarrhea. Mama gonna lose it. I was sooo hoping to get to the gym and get the little ones out and about. Sigh, sigh, sigh.

Best Part of the Day - Erik home early-ish (4:30 p.m.) and I snuck out to run some errands (tax stuff to drop off and library book that had been 'lost' for quite some time. I found it in my two day purge with one day to spare on it's due date. I had renewed it two times in hopes of finding it.) Then we snuggled in for some Nip/Tuck (only two episodes left! I feel like it's the end of an era - we started watching it in Jacksonville!!) I'm pleased to relinquish my single parent status for a couple days :)

Thursday February 18, 2010

Worst Part of the Day - Quinn seemed to be fine this morning - so I was planning on sending him to school. Then Wes spit up a bit at breakfast (so weird - just like baby spit up) and so I decided to keep them both home. There was no throwing up during the day - just sporadic bouts of explosive diahheria. And I do mean explosive especially on the part of Mr. Wes. That kiddo must have lifted his bad self up off the toilet at one point because I walked in the bathroom to find ... well let's just say a half roll of paper towels, bleach, Lysol and Q-Tips were involved.

Best Part of the Day - Was correct to keep them home. Hopefully we can stop the cycle o' stomach bug.

Friday February 19, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
A relaxing day as I planned for some time off. Attended my Book Club gathering this eve and enjoyed, as always. Met two new women and potential friends. Yummy eats and drinks linked with the Norwegian/Swedish setting of the book.

Worst Part of the Day-
A good friend is going through some similiar issues as I had/have with Will-O. As this friend is a more "normal" woman with "normal" emotions (not like my hardened, beeyatchy self) she is REALLY feeling down and lonely and afraid and all that yickiness that goes along...I hate it all for her. She is a dear person and no one deserves this.

Thursday February 18, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Social fun:
Got out of work a tad early so was able to bathe and re-charge prior to "Girls Night", MU game and surprising friend at half time. Sooo fun to meet the ol' ladies for din and wine pre-game!!! Really enjoyed those smiling faces. Did rally to meet friend for 1 B-day beer post-game. Whoop whoop.

Worst Part of the Day-
Though I am known for my second winds, I was down right worried about staying up "late"(past 9pm) tonight. As I bathed and got ready around 5pm, I wondered, "just how will I find the stamina?" (As usual, it was found.)

At the end of the game, I saw my parents in the crowd and my mom walked right up to me and said, "you're not going out after this are you? You look exhausted. You need to go home."
Thanks, Mom. I know fluorescent lights do not help with my under eye circles, but jeez.

Wednesday February 17, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Very interesting cases at work: drained an ovarian cyst, liver biopsy, angiogram, breast abcess=fun for the learning RN.

Worst Part of the Day-
No workout chances til Saturday.

Tuesday February 16, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Coming home and seeing the kidlets and having them run into my arms.

Worst Part of the Day-
I kinda have a ton to do.

Also-Scarlet was really tired this evening and actually had a 1 minute tantrum! She said immediately afterward, "I didn't mean it, I am just so tired." I commended her on understanding the real reason and told her to keep that up her whole life long and she will have an easier time of things.

Monday February 15, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Enjoyable work day.

Worst Part of the Day-
Mondays are me long days.

Sunday February 14, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Received more flowers than I may have another V-day from Will-o, kids, and Auntie Alli---awwww.
Scarlet also gave me her poetic Valentine:
To: Mom From: Scarlet
Be my Valentine, Mom.
You are sweet as candy,
Roses are pink,
Violets are blue,
I love you and I know you love me too!
Love, love, love.
Kiss.

Worst Part of the Day-
Soooooo sleepy this eve and had to force myself into the work place. I am done-ski.

Thursday, February 18, 2010

Wednesday February 17, 2009

Best Part of the Day - Excellent workout and get together with several fun friends. Plus I will now be having my very own Centergy class each and every week. Whoa. Guess I'd better review :)

Worst Part of the Day - My phone was ringing and ringing today - a woman who received a Fed Ex package meant for me (she lives on the complete other side of town - I told her to call Fed Ex.) The plumber who wants to come over and have another look before quoting us an estimate. Then the preschool ... seems Quinn threw up. So I left my fun friends and went to pick him and Wes up. He was still dry heaving a bit. But there was no lethargy at all - in fact, he and Wes got into all sorts of mischief. They lost dessert and television privileges - shouldn't he just be laying on the couch??

Creativity - I was still purging the spare bedroom when Wes came up to see what I was doing. He kept taking things from my piles and running off. After a while I was thinking "what is he doing." So I went into his room and found this (see photo below). Whoa - watch out Calder.
Maybe GR will someday have a 'Wes'. I felt like Lynne Cheney when I dismantled the thing. However, I cited "tidiness" (not ethics or morals) as my excuse.

Tuesday January 16, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Began a major clean out of our spare bedroom. Now that the books and photo albums are in a new bookcase (thank you Dad), I have begun the major purge! Feels good. Later in the early evening I met Melissa and her kiddos at Chick-Fil- A. The boys played and played and played (pink cheeks and heavy breathing for the preschoolers). Nice.

Worst Part of the Day - A couple tax informational pieces are evading me at this present time. Car tax info? Oh where oh where could you be?? Missing 1099? Hope we gets it soon.

Monday February 15, 2010

Worst Part of the Day - I think that since we missed THREE Mondays in the month of January that today should be a preschool 'make up' day. But alas, it tis not.
Took parentals to the airport. Then said 'adios' to Erik who begins work in Fayetteville tomorrow. Pretty sad altogether.

Best Part of the Day -
Detoxing has begun. Feel better already.

Monday, February 15, 2010

Sunday February 14, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Churching, brunching, cornholing. Arrived home to happy babysitters (my parents) who seemed to really enjoy their time with the kiddos - only glowing and fun reports.

Worst Part of the Day - All the rich food, red wine and pull out sleeping have left me bloated and exhausted. Let the detoxxxxxx begin!!

Saturday February 13, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Began the day with bloodies. Donned some tennis gear and hit the courts (I have NEVER picked up a racket before - actually rather fun.) We did this for close to four hours (!) Then home for an intense, lengthy cornhole tournament and more cocktails. Then out to dinner and then home for more cocktails and games.

Worst Part of the Day - Rich food, wine, margaritas, bloodies, pull out couch .... blaaaaaa. My stomach and head (and even heart) are not pleased with me.

Friday February 12, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Left the boys with nary a care and headed to Hilton Head for Papa's surprise birthday weekend. Erik and I drove to Chris and Ann's and then we all drove down together. Very fun and easy drive (even with the rain and (gasp!) snow. Met up with Alex in Savannah at this AMAZING restaurant (Talipia tacos!!) Then to Wet Willies (yes, it's like we are 22 years of age). Then to a bar in Hilton Head. Then met up with Jen and Scott (they had to drive from Atlanta - see below) and SURPRISE!! It was a success. We went out to dinner and then back home for games n' drinks.

Worst Part of the Day - Erik's sis Jennifer and her husband Scott were flying from Bloomington, IL. They were told in Bloomington that their connecting flight would be canceled due to the possibility of snow. So they flew to Atlanta and then drove to Hilton Head. Troupers! And it worked out perfectly to still meet up with them prior to the surprise.

Thursday February 11, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Gigi's heart shaped cookies were a hit at the preschool St. V's Day party. The boyz came home singing "Happy Balentine's Day" and oohing and ahhing over crappy Valentines and cheap candies. So very sweet.
Gigi gave the boyz little magnifying glasses and they looked like mini Sherlock Holmes as they investigated items all over the house.

Worst Part of the Day - I let a SLIGHT misunderstanding betwix Erik and I blow all out of proportion. And I'd done so well for four plus months ... sigh, guess I couldn't be uber mature forever.

Wednesday February 10, 2009

Best Part of the Day - Parentals made it in with no delays (just missed being delayed due to 50 mph wind shears. Geez). Childrens very excited to see their Gigi and Pops. Laid back dinner for four adults after babes were in bed. Conference call with Reitter siblings to lay out plans for the patriarch's 70th b-day. Gigi made dozens and dozens of homemade heart shaped cookies - what a delicious labor o' love it twas.

Worst Part of the Day - Wes would not nap. Quinn's new Franklin spelling dictionary arrived today and it caused some major drama. Erik and I did forget about the conference call - but we hopped on before much happened.

Saturday February 13. 2010

Best Part of the Day-
1. Watching Scarlet in her gymnastics class this morn. She pretty much rocked the house down on the rings and bars. This girl has some muscles. (I'm majorly intrigued cause I never had those muscley things...)
2. Finally getting to my parents' for their Mardi Gras party this eve. Nice to be in the warm home eating and drinking with the fine folks (thank heavens Cuz S. was there!) Another thank heavens that no one had to reveal any skin to obtain the MG beads. Ya just had to take them from the table. Whew.

Worst Part of the Day-
Mucho driving today. Delivered Scarlet nearly to Chicago for her "Aunt Alli Overnight." Then drove to the complete opposite way to the parental home.

Friday February 12, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Kiddies had a great day off full of play time. All in bed by 7pm!!

Worst Part of the Day-
Alright--a friendly neighbor very thoughtfully snow-plowed all of my driveway, walkways and sidewalks the other day during own snow "storm" (really it is simply winter in Wisconsin.) Anyhoo, I was so appreciative of his 35 minutes of labor that saved my shovel-only self about 1.5 hours of work that I gave him a thank you note and added in some heart-shaped cookies (that I had to make anyways for the kids' respective school parties) and some Hersey's kisses. So the neighbor came over today reporting his wife thinks I have a crush on him as I gave him "hearts and kisses." I do not have a crush on the late-50's gentleman, but I am not stupid enough to say no to free help!! Plus, I am a thank you card giver...oh geez.

Thursday February 11, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
My dad is offering to pay for all of his children's rooms for Sean and Alli's wedding in the Dominican Republic. Can I get a whoop, whoop? I haven't gone on a paid-for-by-someone-else trip in a long, long while. Unexpected. I am not prideful enough to turn down someone's generous offer for all-inclusive fun and games with the Cahill Clan.

Worst Part of the Day-
Liam's last day of preschool was today (as I am seriously unable to cater to the 5 hours of social fun with my new work obligations.) Today was also their Valentine Party and it was soooo precious. Scarlet and I are perhaps the only ones who are super sad for him to leave the cutie school. Scarlet said, "But it's a wonderful school and all kids should have that experience!!" I know, I know, but I am in turn giving him the life experience of ya don't always get everything ya want and plan...
(I was tearful. The staff is excellent and his teachers LOVE Liam the sweet!)

Thursday, February 11, 2010

Wednesday February 10, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Getting very, very close to booking my Dominican Republic (wedding fun) trip!!

Worst Part of the Day-
Some of the girls at work were discussing the stereotypical "oh, I hate Valentine's Day because..." Run of the mill answers: "my boyfriend broke up with me that day", "I never have a signif other that day", "my love interest laughed in my face when I gave him a poem...", etc. Finally this cute little 12 year-old piped up in agreement and said, "Yeah it is my least favorite day as it is the anniversary of my dad raping me." Ummmm. My poor, poor sweets.

Tuesday February 9, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Getting through some majorly awkward work calls.

Worst Part of the Day-
On Will-O's way out the door for Chicago this morn he mentioned very casually, "You know I'm going on that yoga/surfing trip to Peru for 3 weeks in March...gosh, I haven't been on a vacation in so long! It's gonna be great." Huh? Sounds amazing.

Monday February 8, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Scarlet was oh so chipper in the wee hours--delight.

Worst Part of the Day-
Late doc rounds after wee AM workin. I still needed to hit up the grocery on the way home this night and I ended up collecting an odd arrangement of sundry items. Will someone tuck me in?

Wednesday, February 10, 2010

Tuesday February 9, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Got lots of errands done (most important: wine buying for parents and sister-in-law). Such a non-stressful, relaxing morning compared to yesterday, I had to appreciate how much dern leisure time we have in the manana. Now sometimes it is TOO long and I find myself wishing for a quick, harried out the door - but today it twas just right. (Probably just my mindset - perception is all, no?)
Met up with some pals prior to preschool pick up and it was so fun (as usual). I love me little village.

Worst Part of the Day - How much laundry can one home of four person (two little types) produce? It seems to average to a load a day and (this is important so I'll put it in caps) LITTLE OF IT IS ACTUALLY MINE.

Monday February 8, 2010

Worst Part of the Day - I woke up realizing that I was unsure of the pick of plan of the cousins this morning (Ann in on the red eye). So I was up at 5:30 a.m. worrying about that and getting all four kiddos ready and leaving the house early to teach Centergy .... so it was an annoying morning (especially as all kiddos slept until 7 a.m.!! All the late nights finally caught up with them). And it was unnecessary worrying as Ann had it all figured out and I left the house in plenty of time to teach the class. I should have just slept and slept.

Best Part of the Day - Taught Centegy and then attended Group Power. Grocery shopping in a rush (had to get back to the house and unload so I could switch cars and then pick up the babes). But it all got done and now I must quiet my mind with some Everything's Sunny in Philly. In bed by 9:30 p.m. Ahhhhhhh.

Bathroom Humor - Today Wes came up to me and said "smell my hand" - this is not weird as I smell their hands constantly to ensure they are washed. However, this time the hand smelled like ... well yes, our friend had been sticking his hand down his backside and then smelling it. It seems when this ceased to be fun he found a victim (me). And he knew just what he was doing because as I started to smell it, he started dying laughing in the way of pre, post, and current adolescent males. Upon telling Erik the story, he had to cover his mouth to keep from laughing. Makes Beevis and Butthead suddenly much clearer. Then in the evening Quinn said to me "smell my hand" and I was leery but it turns out he just has some Burt's Bee's balm on his hand. Sigh

Sunday February 7, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Successfully taught a Centergy class today (well, part of a Centergy class). But it felt pretty fun today - way less scary.

Worst Part of the Day - I'm very, very tired. I've been going to bed late and being woke up early. Forgot to put a diaper on Wes last night (oops) and so he peed himself. Then he got me up two more times during the night. I guess once you pee, you can't slee (p).
Kiddos all fine today - but it was crappy out and there was too much television going on.
And sorry to the resident Hoosier (Erik) for the loss o' the Colts. I think the rest of American was lovin' dem Saints though.

Sunday, February 7, 2010

Sunday February 7, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Worked out. Pizza/football/taxes.

Worst Part of the Day-
Liam is in the fairly typical uber whiney 3 year-old phase. (My lord--it only just left my sweet Scar and the child is 6!) I am handling it (and all things) better as I know this is some kind of strange pathway to growing up and talking without that plaintive pitch and that fake facial wince, BUT it certainly can grate, grate, grate.

Also-Scarlet received no less than $50 worth of plasticky Disney crapola last night (she best be glad it wasn't a Mom/Daughter Date as I would've packed smushy peanut butter sammies in my purse and declared "no treats, no toys!") She was an excellent sharer of items with the very intrigued Liam this morn--at first. But soon she became a greedy dictator ("you can have the swirly light-up wand for 10 seconds and then I get it for an hour! OK, Buddy?") Grate, grate, grate.

Saturday February 6, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Productive weekend day with high energy: Home appraisal in AM (will update plan at later time), completed kid painting crafts in late AM (that I had been meaning to do for no less than 1 year), dad/daughter date to Princesses on Ice in PM (after minor snaffu).

Worst Part of the Day-
Driving around for literally 38 minutes attempting to park at the not-remotely-touched-by-any-recession Bayshore Mall. omg. All I was trying to do was get a cut/color as my lady moved there from the plenty of parking in my 'hood. It was reminiscent of anywhere in Chicago on a Saturday and it killed...

Friday February 5, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
I met Scarlet for lunch in her school cafeteria as again I had a work thingy right down the street from her. We held hands while we ate (after I squeezed my frame into the tiny kindergarten table) and talked with her peeps. When I was leaving Scar was beaming and said, "Ya know what I love about you? I love that you are a nurse--I love that. You are so loving! And a vegetarian!!" We smooched and I headed back to the work day. Success.

Worst Part of the Day-
I still have not captured my sweet offspring for my Valentine photo....arrrgghhh. One is always not in the mood for a photo shoot.

Thursday February 4, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
I made up a delectable, cleansing "anti-cancer" beet soup. (I can only use fresh ingredients in my soups as things from cans freak me out...). So fun when your soup is pink! A yummy triumph.

Worst Part of the Day-
I had to do some grocery shopping as cupboards were pretty barren. Was it the eve of Christmas Eve?? It was packed to high hell and highly annoying. Where is my assistant??

Saturday February 6, 2010

Worst Part of the Day - Still crappy and cold and rainy out. Had a little bit o drama regarding meals today ... it's hard to feed other people's kiddos, no? I'm sure it would be hard to feed mine (well one of mine).
Zoe (the dog) crapped in our garage. Yuck.
Erik starting to feel ill .... uh oh. I think he's getting my sickness.

Best Part of the Day - Signed up all four kiddos for a three and half hour "Bible Camp" at the Methodist Church (God love the Methodists! I think all religions ought to get this going on). The kids had a blast, got out of the house and Erik and I were able to watch three hours of Lost. Very satisfying season premiere. Oh and I think our kids learned something about the Bible - unsure. The children were monosyllabic regarding the experience. Erik thinks they might have been brainwashed. I say if it was obedience brainwashing, I can get on board with that.
Also my pal Melissa dropped off her two kiddos while she and her husband went to dinner. All SIX boys played well together and it was no problem! We have a little babysitting co-op going on - next is the overnight stays!!
After Melissa picked up her kiddos and we got the four boys to bed, Erik and I watched some Everything's Sunny in Philly. Can't stop laughing about it.

Friday February 5, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Quinn awoke to see Carson on his floor and he began to jump up and down on his bed yelling with joy. Then Quinn, Carson and Wes played together for hours and hours with little drama. Nice. Erik picked up Jack at school and they were home by about 3:45 p.m. Then the four proceeded to play quite nicely. By 4:30 p.m. Erik's pal from high school stopped by (in town for work). The three of us proceeded to sit up and talk until midnight. I laughed long and hard for much of the time (even after he lectured Erik and I re: God. I actually stifled a grin on that one, too.)

Worst Part of the Day - Rainy, cold and crappy out. Really annoying to wipe the paws of four dogs each and every time they enter back in the abode.

Thursday February 4, 2010

Best Part of the Day - Slept in again ... sigh. My friend Janelle picked up the kiddos and dropped them at preschool because Erik's mom had to skedaddle. Erik and I had an unrushed drive home and then I picked up two kiddos who were ecstatic to see me.
Then Ann dropped off Carson (and Zoe the dog) at around 8:30 p.m. Carson walked right upstairs and went to sleep on Quinn's floor.

Worst Part of the Day - Just about feeling better ... but ready to feel all the way better!

Wednesday February 3, 2010

Worst Part of the Day - Still not feeling 100% - sore throat, voice that sounds like I've been smoking a pack a day for 10 years, slight headache and cough. Blah.

Best Part of the Day - Ahhh slept in until 9:30 a.m. Looked at some apartments for Erik - but no real luck. Then he had a training from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. so I had some free leisure time. Then we went to dinner and then to see Sherlock Holmes which I appreciated and was amused by - but didn't love. I will say that Robert Downey Jr. has PRESENCE - I could not look away from him on the screen.

Saturday, February 6, 2010

Wednesday February 3, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
I drove Miss S. to school this morn as I had a downtown work thingy right down the street. We had such fun singing and laughing in the early hours. She has a great sense of humor--love.

Worst Part of the Day-
I don't know why I did this 'cause I knew darn well I can't watch these things...I watched documentary Will-O got from the library called something like, See No Evil. It documented a Catholic priest's admission/confession of molesting hundreds of kids and the church cover-up lasting 20+ years. (Clearly the man is 100% NUTS and clearly I spent the entire time with my horrified hand clapped over my mouth wanting desperately to stab him and cut off certain body parts...) This movie made it so I tossed and turned all night and it will be disturbing for many, many, many nights. The poor, poor victims, the families, the other sweet Catholics. I don't recommend viewing...jarring, cringing, horrifying=upsetting.

Thursday, February 4, 2010

Tuesday February 2, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Only had to go to 1 job today.

Worst Part of the Day-
Spent my luxurious time "off" purchasing waayyy too much stuff. There goes my self-subscribed month of a spending freeze...needed new Dansko's, new coat, new vacation...

Monday February 1, 2010

Best Part of the Day-
Snuggling in bed and reading with the kids at my sides this fine first night of Feb.

Worst Part of the Day-
Long day of working from 5am-8pm. (I really like the work part, but the 95 other things can be challenging...) Exhale.

Best Part of the Day-
Watched the cutie pie "romantic" comedy, Post Grad. Thought it was fun. Michael Keaton made me cry with laughter.

Worst Parts of the Day-
Will-O and I cannot even speak. We cannot even have one conversation.

Examples:
Me: Sorry, I'm out of laundry detergent...
Will: Don't worry, I used a combo of liquid hand soap and dish soap and I did it.

Me: Did Scarlet do her homework?
Will: She already knows how to write her numbers to 100, so I didn't see why she had to.
Me: So no?
Will: No.

Worst Part of the Day - It rained ALL DAY - not great driving conditions and made me want to cozy in at home, not get on the road. Also not feeling well - I've lost my voice and feel "a general sense of malaise." Blah.

Best Part of the Day - Kid-Free drive, lunch, hotel check in, nap, dinner, movie ..... blissful. I thought Avatar was really, really good. Could have done without the 3-D though. Too much.

Worst Part of the Day - Due to the below freezing temps, Charlotte Mecklenberg schools are closed today. Therefore, preschool is closed today. That is three Mondays in a row for no school. Sighs.

Best Part of the Day - My pal Melissa offered to bring my kiddos home after the gym for a playdate while I ran to the store. It was so great to buzz through the store getting my sundries. Then went to pick up the kiddos and ended up staying for another hour and a half as the boys played the day away. It might have actually been better than a preschool day ... for me. I owe you one, Melissa!!
Johanna (Erik's mom) also arrived as she is going to take care of the kiddos while Erik and I buzz over to Fayetteville. Going to look for an apartment for him and check out the town (this is where he will be working).
